S.A.F.E.
Abstract
Problem Statement
S.A.F.E. app is design to tackle challenges face by the women in organization, educational
institution and transport. The key feature of the app includes SOS alert system, which
allow user to send pre-design message to their emergency contact and law enforcement
by pressing panic button or by pressing power button 3 times, pressing the button 3 times
will ease the user to use it in high stress situation where navigating smartphone will be
difficult.
Our app incorporates a feature offline map sharing via SMS, where internet connectivity
is weak or unreliable especially in rural area. Our app will allow user send their live
location to their emergency contact through offline map sharing via SMS. This will ensure
that even without internet, user will able to send their current location to emergency
contact and authorities.
S.A.F.E. app will allow user to record audio and video during an emergency, which can
be used as key evidence for law enforcements. Another core features a pre-design message
will be send to emergency contact in case of low-battery, low-battery notification system
will alert emergency contact ensuring their location is shared before the device powers
off.
The main aspect of our solution that it will remain free for user of Pakistan, which will
ensure women in urban and rural areas can travel or work with greater confidence. This
app is design to function across Pakistan, which ensure to fill gap in current solution,
particular in area with limited connectivity. By making this technology available across
Pakistan free of cost will empower women across the country.
This app support both Urdu and English, which will provide wide spectrum of users across
socio-economic backgrounds. Beyond providing emergency assistance our app will
provide guidance on safety, helping to empower by giving them knowledge to navigate in
emergency situation more confidently and safely. S.A.F.E. app is more than just an
application it is a step toward creating a safer surrounding for women in Pakistan.
In today's world personal safety, especially for women, is a major concern. Whether
traveling alone, or facing an emergency situation, the lack of quick access to help can lead
to many safety issues. Despite the availability of technology and safety measures, there is
still a significant gap in providing real-time assistance, active monitoring, and instant
communication when dangerous situation come. Women often feel insecure when alone,
and current solutions fail to provide a seamless, effective, and quick response during
emergencies. We must understand why women’s safety needs special attention, both in
urban and rural areas, and provide reliable tools to help them stay safe.
Studies show that incidents of harassment, assault, and emergencies can be mitigated
through timely rescue. The lack of user-friendly and accessible technology dedicated to
women's safety leads to less use of existing services, increasing the risk of harm.
Moreover, limited integration of communication tools, emergency response, and location
tracking further hinders personal safety in critical moments.
