Wearable system for Parkinson

A wearable system designed to detect Freezing of Gait (FoG) and cognitive disruptions in Parkinson’s disease patients through continuous real-time monitoring.

Cohort 2

Problem Statement

Parkinson’s disease can significantly affect movement and walking, particularly through unpredictable Freezing of Gait (FoG) episodes that increase the risk of falls, injuries, and dependency. Current monitoring methods often rely on costly clinical equipment and controlled environments, making continuous daily monitoring difficult. As a result, patients and healthcare professionals may lack real-time information about when and how frequently these episodes occur outside clinical settings. There is a need for an affordable wearable solution that continuously monitors gait patterns and detects FoG episodes in real time, supporting safer mobility and better monitoring of Parkinson’s disease.
